A mixture of compounds emitted when burning carbon-based fuels. Combustion products are made up of a variety of substances, such as soot, ash, tars, hydrocarbons, VOCs (aldehydes and benzene), CO, steam, and metals such as lead, mercury, or cadmium. Combustion product may include a wide variety or number of substances, depending on the constituents of the fuel and the efficiency of the combustion process.
